Of Lingerie and Truckers

Pancake's dad is a long haul trucker.  He climbs into his rig and heads out on the road for days, even weeks, at a time.  (We've taken to calling him PD.)  So PD was telling us lads some stories from the road.  He says that, "He has a hellavuh lotta alone time.  I've fine tuned my mind; I see myself as a trucker mystic, but lately I've been thinking about lingerie".

Pancake tried to get him off the subject.  He often gets embarrassed by his eccentric father.  Sweaty started to tease him.  Pancake was getting really riled up.

We all piled on Pancake and PD, but then French said: "No guys I wanna hear more".  We all shut-up.

Turns out PD really has thought about lingerie a lot.  When he gets off the road he grabs a pencil and paper and sketches out his designs.  Teddies, lace skirts, boy-shorts, bras, g-strings, bodices...you name it PD has drawn it.

We all piled on again. Laughing at red-faced Pancake and his smirking father.

PD said:  "I've sold some designs".   French replied: "No Shit?"  PD handed him a folded cheque from under the brim of his trucker hat.

French read the figure: "Thirty Thousand Dollars".

I hope PD's designer aesthetic is minimalist. Less = more.

I second Fisheye's comment!! Tell him to bring the pictures to prove it.

Hilarious. I think truckers would be the best at that type of fashion development.

Do you have lingerie on your mind Mr . Olson? ; )

erika

What does the Bible have to say about logs, planks, specks, motes and throwing first stones?

God Bless

P.S. What was erika doing reading this smut?

i wasn't starting a debate i simply wanted you to ask yourself the questions.

and i admit i am a sinner but i also don't go around saying that sin is fine and there is nothing wrong with it...if you notice when Jesus mentioned specks and planks in eyes he said take the one out of your eye first so that you can see clearly to remove your neighbors...he didnt say that we were just supposed to act like the specks were okay altogether.

believe me ive felt the stones...and i hate it when people condemn others for what they ahve done Jesus died for us so that we wouldn't have to pay the consequences for aour sins which is amazing...but He also died so that we could be made free from our sin and that is amazing to.

how many people go to church just to end up leaving it after a while because they went there in need of forgiveness or a change in their life but overtime became desperately lonely or unhappy because there was noone they could share their sins with without being judged and therefore no one to help them defeat them either. so they just went back to it always guilty and never free.

if we just keep going back to them once we are cleansed from them...we are never free and neither are the people we encourage to continue in sin with us.

Erika, determining the nature of sin is a complex topic. Are you an expert on the topic? You sound like it.

Anonymous said...

it's not really if you believe what Jesus calls sin is sin and if you believe that the gospel of Jesus recorded in the Bible is accurate. Jesus and the writers of the gospel and letters do a wonderful job of determining the nature of sin and i don't really feel that i have any reason to act as though i could come up with a better one. i will ask you though human paradox, are you a Christian?

Human Paradox said...

Erika, I could never call myself a Christian because Christians are people who think they are right and everyone who doesn't believe what they believe is wrong. That is never an intelligent position.

Man, I was just writing a little story 'bout a trucker and a sketch-book.

Thanks Dox and Thank you Erika

God Bless you Both!

Olie, sorry for filling up this comment space with petty argumentation.

why are you trying to debate with me? i am simply speaking and asking.

Brother Ollie said...

Erika - you started the debate by asking two questions. I had not realized that they were a rhetorical devices.

Cheers God Bless.

P.S. Read a bit deeper into my tales. You may find some of the other characters more to your liking.

Erika, you're not. Your original comment on this blog was one of presumed certainty. You took a position of authority on a topic with no respect for the person you were criticizing. This is typical of fundamentalist Christians. Do you belong to a fundamentalist church? If so, you need to review the Be-attitudes as taught by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. The essence of true Christianity is found there. You need to leave you fundamentalist church. It is a cult of hatred.

thought provoking things. things that stir up emotions whether good or bad, are really hard for people to talk about in a civilized manner. have you ever wondered why that is? it always makes me believe in Jesus so much more when He is the only one no one wants to hear about.

dear human paradox are you not judging me and my motives now?

Human Paradox said...

Your attitude is not Jesus-like at all. I think the only one here that needs to do some real soul-searching is you.

and if you accept anything from the Bible than you have to accept everything from the Bible so don't tell me to cut and chop little pieces of it out and sell that as the gospel of Christ. if Jesus died for us, which i do believe He did, then there was a reason He had to and that is all i am going to say about that. i only ask you to seek god out for yourself not for me or anyone else because in all honesty if it were not for Christ i wouldnt care less what happened to your soul but i do so i just ask that you will seek him out even if when you find Him He tells you i was wrong. i have no desire to control you or really even talk to you at all. if you want to understand where i am coming from here me out instead of assuming anything and if you want others to hear you out "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" you can talk all night long if you want, i will listen if you want me to.

Human Paradox said...

No. I am taking a position in a debate - which is different than judging. We are discussing the "nature" of true Christianity. You seem to be unclear as to what it means. Which makes me believe that perhaps you are a relatively new "Christian?"

the Word of God stands alone. no one adds to it. noone subtracts from it. i have no power but Christ has all power and authority!

"i have no power but Christ has all power and authority!"

Exactly Erika. That's why you need to keep your judgments to yourself. You have no business sticking your nose into other people's relationship with God, no matter how much you want to. If you disagree with their understanding of God, or the choices they make, then you must overlook it and learn to love them unconditionally, as Christ, your Lord and Savior does. That's part of a mature faith.

they were not intended to bring anyone closer to Jesus but me because i seek Him and i have a lot of reasons to hatethe things that i call sin regardless of whether they are sin in your opinion or not...so do you really think that you brought me closer to Christ by defending the things you do rather than defending Jesus Christ Himself and the Good news that He died for my sins?

Oh, Jesus Christ, Erica. Don't get your panties in a knot!

Old Ollie - great story! Very creative!

Peace,
an empathetic sinner
